Baguio City – A Cool Philippines Travel Destination in the Tropics

Manuel Maniquis asked:

A famous Philippines travel destination up north is Baguio City. Baguio is fondly called as the summer capital of the Philippines because tourists flock to the area during summer. The reason – it is much cooler to spend summer in Baguio than any other place in the Philippines. With its location atop the Cordillera Mountains, at an elevation of 1,500 meters above sea level, it is the closest thing the country has to a mountain resort.

There are so many things you can do in this Philippines travel destination. True enough, you might have to travel 6 hours by land or 45 minutes by plane to Baguio, but for sure, it will all be worth it. Baguio is also called as the City of Pines because of the thousands of pine trees in the area. The presence of these trees adds to the already cool atmosphere of Baguio. One other thing that the city is known for is its strawberry farms. If it is harvesting season, you can ask your travel agent to set up your trip in such a way that you will be able to go to a strawberry farm for some picking.

Places of interest in this Philippines travel destination include the Burnham Park and the Wright Park. You can enjoy boating and horseback riding in these parks respectively. Baguio is also the home of the Philippine Military Academy, the training grounds of the future leaders of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Souvenir shopping is one thing tourists will enjoy in Baguio because several shops operate in the area.

For your accommodations, you can choose from a variety of hotels and pension houses that will fit your budget. You can also stay in Camp John Hay, which used to be the R&R place of the US military troops then. Certainly, there is just too much to do in Baguio.

Philippine Brides, Don’t be a Fool

A. Hathaway asked:

What to know when considering a Philippine Bride

The Philippines is a poor country and has a reputation for relationship fraud. Of course there are plenty of good, beautiful and honest women seeking marriage with foreigners. There is also an active population of scammers, fraud schemes and old fashioned gold diggers. Some women seek financial gain and lifestyle upgrades, an escape from poverty. Others are actually seeking a loving relationship, marriage and something new and exciting. How to tell this difference is the key question.

If she asks for money, put the brakes on. Beware of family or medical “emergencies” where the woman needs cash and financial support fast. Know that sending money via Western Union is likely lost in the event that she’s a scammer. Understand that the scammers are professional criminals and are very difficult to distinguish between an honest and trustworthy woman.

Educated yourself by reading about scam and fraud methods. Knowing about the different scams will help you recognize any foul play. The schemes and fraud efforts vary in strategy, but all have one thing in common, money. Money is usually requested in the form of advance fee fraud, where the criminal needs help with school, medical, rent, family, visa, etc. You can read more about the fraud types at Wikipedia’s site for relationship fraud and advance fee fraud. This is a major step in prevention.

Once you understand the fraud types and warnings signs, consider a trip to the Philippines. Get to know her and her country. See for yourself who you’re dealing with. This is a key step in not only preventing fraud, but also in establishing a meaningful relationship. Take time to get to know her. A Philippine woman in a hurry to marry is a major red flag.

Lastly, if all checks out, get a professional background check by a firm with a local presence in Manila and Cebu. Wymoo offers confidential investigations and has years of experience dealing with potential brides and relationships in the Philippines.

Best of luck, and do your homework!

Christine Layug asked:

Festivities in the Philippines are celebrated extravagantly and lavishly, especially those festivities celebrated in provincial places such as the Kadayawan Festival of Davao City which is a celebration of life and a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature.

The Dinagyang is a religious and cultural festival in Iloilo City, Philippines held on the fourth Sunday of January, or right after the Sinulog In Cebu and the Ati-Atihan in Aklan. It is held both to honor the Santo Niño and to celebrate the arrival on Panay of Malay settlers and the subsequent selling of the island to them by the Atis.

The Ati-Atihan Festival is a feast held in honor of the Santo Niño held annually in January concluding on third Sunday, in the town of Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines. It is also the wildest among Philippine fiestas and considered as the Mother of All Philippine festivals.

The Sinulog Festival is an annual festival held on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City, Philippines. The festival honors the child Jesus, known as the Santo Niño, patron of the city of Cebu. It is a dance ritual that commemorates the Filipino people’s pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity.

Some festivities are similar in what they are celebrating or honoring, and some are unique especially on how they celebrate their festivity. But apart from its religious similarity, every festival happening in the Philippines, either big or small, a Philippine Lechon is always present.

The Philippine Lechon is a popular Filipino cuisine that is commonly reserved only for special occasion such as festivities or celebrations.

Philippine Lechon is usually cooked during national festivities, the holiday season, and other special occasions such as weddings, graduations, birthdays and baptisms, or family get-togethers. A Philippine Lechon is commonly served with liver-based gravy or sometimes served Chinese style with steamed buns and a sweet plum sauce.

Philippine Lechon is usually the main highlight of festivities or other kinds of celebrations, and it is the most popular dish in the event. Other versions of a Philippine Lechon include the Philippine Lechon kawali which is cooked in a large frying pan and cooked to a crisp.

Apart from its traditional and occasional preference, a Philippine Lechon is also perfect as a gift. Try sending some Philippine Lechon to your families back home with the services that Express Regalo can provide.

Express Regalo was developed and launched to provide Filipinos abroad a fast, reliable, convenient and hassle-free way to shop and send gifts to their loved ones in the Philippines. Christine Layug asked:

Since as long as we can remember, the lechon has been always there to brighten up every occasion or special event that we when into. In every festivity that we have gone through, there is always a lechon lying down on the table, ready to be eaten. But what are lechons anyway? And where did it start?

Among the many popular dishes here in the Philippines, the Philippine Lechon is considered to be the most popular among the Filipinos. The Philippine Lechon is a popular Filipino cuisine that is commonly reserved only for special occasion such as festivities or celebrations.

The name Lechon was derived from the Spanish word meaning suckling pig, which is a piglet that is killed between the ages of two to six weeks and traditionally roasted. And like the Philippine Lechon, it’s usually reserved for special occasions. But unlike a suckling pig, a Philippine Lechon is usually a whole adult roasted pig. Visit the In Lechon Philippine to get a taste of the Philippine lechon culture.

Though a Philippine Lechon is typically a whole roasted pig, Philippine Lechon also involves chicken or cattle aside. A typical process of Philippine Lechon involves the whole pig/piglet, chicken, or cattle/calf being slowly roasted over charcoal.

Philippine Lechon is usually cooked during national festivities (known as fiestas), the holiday season, and other special occasions such as weddings, graduations, birthdays and baptisms, or family get-togethers. A Philippine Lechon is commonly served with liver-based gravy or sometimes served Chinese style with steamed buns and a sweet plum sauce. Send a lechon to your loved ones back home with the help of In Lechon Philippine.

Philippine Lechon is usually the main highlight of festivities or other kinds of celebrations, and it is the most popular dish in the event. Other versions of a Philippine Lechon include the Philippine Lechon kawali which is cooked in a large frying pan and cooked to a crisp.

Leftover Philippine Lechon can be easily recycled into another delectable Filipino dish called Philippine Lechon paksiw. Philippine Lechon paksiw involves cooking left-over Philippine Lechon by boiling it in vinegar or gravy making the meat moist and the skin very soft. Visit the In Lechon Philippine to learn how to send some premium lechon to your loved ones back home.

Though a Philippine Lechon is popular among the Filipinos, finding a shop that sells this can be tough. The easies place to buy some Philippine Lechon in the Philippines is in La Loma Quezon City. But if you cannot get there, then you could always buy some Philippine Lechon then have it delivered on your door steps. And the best place for that is with Express Regalo. If you want to know what Express Regalo and In Lechon Philippine can do for you, then visit Express Regalo at www.expressregalo.com.

Master Hughes asked:

Master Hughes well known for operating the National Meditation Center also known as alphacorps. He has shut down numerous scams against American men by philippine women. While he supports intercultural marriages, marriage fraud by foreign women has grown ten fold because congress passed the VAWA act to protect these criminals.

Master Hughes worked on one case where a young philippine women committed marriage fraud marrying an elderly man. She abused the eldely man sometimes beating him with a coat hanger. While the FBI has been made aware of the situation and the fact that 190,000 dollars was taken from the elderly man when the philippine women fled. The fact is that there may be a associated terroist link to the crime. The FBI and Immigration  have ignored the situation stating that its up the the immigration department to prosecute.

Immigration says they dont have the money to prosecute. God bless America where a kid can go to jail for possession of weed but foreigners can commit felonies and admit them and walk free.

Makes you wonder why congress is helping them. Immigration actually protects these women because of the vawa act. Master Hughes work has saved American men tens of thousands by stopping the scammers.

He has put out a video designed to help men know when there being scammed and to let them learn more about philippine culture. Knowledge is power, knowing about  Philippine culture helps the men create legitimate relationships with the women and lowers the chanch of being scammed. www.nationalmeditation.org

Recently a law enforcement officer contacted Master Hughes , he had been to the philippines two times and given a women a lot of money, only on the second visit to find out he was being scammed. Because men know very little about these women and there culture they are easy victims.

Any one can be a victim of these women, simply because men are lonely they are easy victims. The men go to the philippines often by them selves, and take a lot of risks. There are honest women every where in the world, but  there are also a lot of criminals waiting to take advantage of you. You can find someone to share your life with if you learn how .

Dont be quick to take the advice of individuals running the dating sites sometimes there actually involved in the scam.Master Hughes advice is to watch my video and know before you go about the culture. See his video on  http://www.youtube.com/zenmasterhughes
